Madden 18: Top Five Quarterback Ratings
With the release date of Madden NFL 18 almost upon us, the developers have been releasing the ratings of some key players. We’ve already covered the rookies, but now it’s time for the most important position in sports – the quarterbacks.
The EA Sports bigwigs released the ratings of the top five quarterbacks, and threw in a couple of extra notes at the end. Here they are:
1) Tom Brady – New England Patriots – 99 Overall
This was fully expected. The best quarterback in the game is the yard-stick by which all other quarterbacks will be measured.
2) Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – 98 Overall
98 seems about right for Rodgers. If Brady is the insurmountable bastion, Rodgers is but mere feet below his contemporary’s towering pinnacle. The Packers’ signal-caller’s late game heroics against the Dallas Cowboys in the dying seconds of the NFC Divisional Round have earned him a 97 throw on the run rating. Wherever you want the ball to go, Rodgers will be capable of getting it there.
3) Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – 96 Overall
The reigning league MVP makes a 12 point jump from this time last year, and his role in propelling the Falcons to the Super Bowl has not gone unnoticed. If you can get yourself a decent offensive line, you’ll be able to sit back and pick defenses apart just like the real life Matty Ice did in 2016.
4) Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – 92 Overall
The Saints veteran has shown himself to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL so consistently, his position within the top five is absolutely deserved.
5) Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers – 91 Overall
Ben looked uncharacteristically out of sorts last year, but still showed us the glimpses of why he’s deemed one of the generational QBs we’ve been blessed with. Laser accuracy down the field is on the menu, and the strength that makes him so hard to sack
Thus concludes the top five quarterbacks to start Madden NFL 18, but EA chucked us one final piece of information- don’t worry Seahawks and Colts fans, your quarterbacks didn’t make this list, but both Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck are rated north of the 90 overall mark.
