New York Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr has reportedly signed a new 5-year shoe endorsement deal with Nike, for the largest dollar amount of any NFL player in history. The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was first with the news:
Twitter: #Giants WR Odell Beckham signed the most lucrative shoe deal ever for an @NFL player. Nike & his agent Zeke Sandhu worked out a 5-year deal. (@RapSheet)
Adidas had also made the wideout an offer, which Nike contractually had ten days to match, and did:

Nice Kicks’ Nick DePaula reports the deal as initially being worth $29m; if the clause extending it to 8-years is exercised it becomes worth more in the region of $48m. Conversely, the deal far exceeds Beckham Jr’s current contract with the Giants, which as he is still playing under his rookie deal nets him around $16m.
The wideout is due to make $1.8 million this year and skipped OTA’s earlier this week, although it is unclear yet if he is holding out for a new contract.
Beckham Jr has had an exceptional first three years in the NFL, surpassing 1,300 receiving yards, scoring double-digit TD’s, and making the Pro Bowl in every season so far.
