I spoke to Jacksonville Jaguars “offensive weapon” Denard Robinson at NFL UK’s “Summer Bowl” event in London.

Denard, one of my favourite things about you as a player is that your own team list you as an “offensive weapon”. Can you tell us what this means?

I can play a little bit of everything. You can put me anywhere on the football field and I can play it. Except offensive line man, I can’t get anywhere on the offensive line or the d-line, or maybe linebacker. But I can play anything else.

Which is your favourite one to play then? You’ve spent a lot of time at tailback in Jacksonville, but is there anywhere you feel most at home?

Yeah that’s where I feel most at home right now, my whole life I’ve played quarterback so I’ve done loads of time there too. But you put me at receiver I feel like I can make some plays there too.

This Jaguars team is stacked with young playmakers; Bortles, Yeldon, Hurns, Allen Robinson, and yourself. How scared should opposing defenses be?

Very. I think they should be very scared. It’s like a horror movie.

As the Jaguars continue to improve year on year, what steps are you taking to ensure you don’t move backwards?

Don’t get cocky. Don’t be complacent. Be better than we were last year, and that comes by being better than we were the day before. We’re going to keep taking steps forward into 2016.

Finally, how significant is an event like Summer Bowl for these kids here today, and the growth of football here in Britain?

We’re just trying to make it grow here man. We just want the guys in the UK to love football. We want to try and be the home team Jaguars. We want to be the ones that show them football, that it’s a lot of fun.
